Lean Mean Reading Machine

Hannah is doing very well in reading. Her teacher sends home leveled readers and you can look up what it means. Hannah started the year in level C, which is the highest kindergarten level (there are 4 levels) and intended for 4-6 year olds. Within 2 months, she was on to level D, which correlates with the reading they expect at the start of 1st grade and typically encompasses 4-7 year olds. Now she has moved up again to level E, which is the 2nd of 7 levels that they expect in 1st grade and correlates with 6-7 year olds. It's good to see that she started out well and even better to see that she continues to move up. On top of this, she is the first kid in her class to read 10 books for the "reading at recess" program, which earned her a picture in her school newsletter last week:

Reading at Recess

Let's give a hand to Hannah for reading 10 books during recess. Way to go Hannah!

She says her goal is to become the "library helper" for the day, which takes 30 books. I have every faith she will do it!

Most importantly out of all of this, she LOVES to read!
