Last night, we went to the final game in the NCAA to cheer on our Dawgs. We were sitting almost at the top, but it made no difference. We were there, seeing our alma mater, in person (yay Jen!). It was a great game and the first time I've gotten to see Lucas Oil Stadium. I was impressed the way our guys handled themselves the entire game. They were definitely at a size disadvantage which was noticable on more than one play, but they kept on going, never letting Duke's massive size or power get the best of them. It was the most exciting game I've ever seen. It came down to a half court shot at the buzzer that barely bounced out. If Hayward had thrown it just a tad lighter, the entire story could have been different. Although it would have been great if the ball had just bounced inward instead of outward, that one final shot does not negate all the great things this team has done this year. They are second in the country and that's pretty darn impressive. Just as importantly, they are back in class today, showing what it is to be an exemplary student as well as athlete. As always, I am proud to be a Bulldog!
Pictures to come!
