4 Years In Review

It's hard to believe it's been 4 years now! My little girl is getting so big!


Height/weight:

~At birth she was 8lbs 6oz and 21.5 inches

~At age 1, she was 21lbs 5oz and 31 inches

~At age 2, she was 29lbs 6oz and 37 inches

~At age 3, she was 33lbs 3oz and 40 inches

~At age 4, she is 39lbs and 43.5 inches


Physical features:

~At birth her hair was dark brown and had a red tint to it. Her eyes were blue grey.

~At age 1, her hair was blond and there was only a very very small amount of it. It's even hard to see in pictures. Her eyes were bright blue and she had 6 teeth.

~At age 2, her hair was blond but had a little bit of a red tint to it. It also had a little bit of a wave/flip to it. She still doesn't have even enough to warrant a trim, but it's finally coming in. Her eyes were still clear blue. She ha all her first year teeth but no second year molars in sight.

~At age 3, her hair was still blond with a red tint. It definitely had a curl/flip to it at the bottom which when you let it grow looked crazy cute (or sometimes just crazy). She had a trim and 2 haircuts. Her eyes were still a beautiful blue. She had two of her second year molars in and we were waiting on the other two.

~At age 4, her hair is still what I would call "straw-colored" blond. We still see the occasional red tint. It has a wave to it and if you keep it in a short bob, it is really cute. If you let it get too long, it starts to look a little thin but it's very fine and soft. Her eyes are still blue and all of her teeth are in. She is getting a few freckles and moles on her arms, legs, and torso.


Milestones:

~At birth she was good and nursing and sleeping.

~At age 1, she could crawl, say 3 words, drink out of a sippy cup, stand up, walk holding onto things, turn pages in a book, eat in a high chair, and feed herself finger foods.

~At age 2, she could walk, run, jump, do a somersault, throw a ball, kick a ball, feed herself with silverware, open doors, drink out of a regular cup, walk up and down stairs alone, sleep in a toddler bed, eat in a booster seat, sing a few songs, count to 10, put on/take off some clothes, answer simple questions, follow instructions, talk on the phone, choose between 2 options, name objects and body parts, say about 400-500 words, and talk in 3-4 word sentences.

~At age 3, she could throw a ball with aim, climb, ride a bike with training wheels, stand on one foot, hop, sit in a regular chair for meals, strap herself in the carseat, sing more songs than I could remember, count to 29, recognize some letter, negotiate, share, recognize differences, recognize right vs. wrong, identify colors and shapes, sing the alphabet, recite her favorite book, answer question, talk to other kids and adults, play with other kids, pretend play, make up songs/words/stories, do things by herself, understand consequences, draw circles and straight lines, problem solve, say her name, say Mommy & Daddy's name, say her age, say her gender, help with chores, dress and undress, wash hands, wash off in shower, brush her hair, brush her teeth, open doors, ask questions about why things are the way they are, ask permission, say please and thank you, state favorites, give opinions, tell feelings, remember things from months ago, talk in paragraphs, and help with the baby.

~At age 4, she can recognize all the letters (uppercase and lowercase), write most of the letters, draw pictures of people, write her first name, use a scooter, climb playground equipment without help, recite books, give the sounds for each letter, come up with her own conclusions, zip up her own coat, sleep in a twin size bed, get some of her own snacks, recite poems/songs/prayers, display sympathy/empathy for others, play pretend alone, go to preschool, color pretty close to inside the lines, cut with scissors, use glue, give full name, give city she lives in, be very into friendships, name the days of the week, describe weather, swim with an inflatable ring, match things, play eye spy and hi-ho cherry-o, and pretend to read books she doesn't know by making up a story for the pictures.
