"New Bed"

This last weekend, I woke up early and headed over to the semi-annual kid sale they have around here. It's a huge garage sale and I was surprised how many people were already in line when my friend Amy & I got there at 7:40am. Amy was looking for a few toys and some clothes for her almost 1-year-old daughter and I was looking for a play kitchen and a toddler bed for Hannah. They had a play kitchen that was in good condition, but it didn't have a refrigerator with it (and that was my favorite part of the play kitchen I had as a child) so I decided to pass on it and will continue to keep my eyes opened. They did, however, have a pink toddler bed. I snatched it up right away and the people at the check-out seemed truly confused by my purchase of only 1 item. Perhaps because everyone in front of and behind me had bags full of items... Anyways, I brought home my new purchase and Hannah loved it immediately. She has been talking non-stop about her "new bed", as she calls it, ever since. I was going to put her in it right away while she was interested in it and before the newness wore off, but I had hesitated since we have both been sick. She seems to have made a full recovery and so tonight I decided to try putting her in it. I was worried that she wouldn't like it, that she would get up and walk around, or that she would just plain scream until I put her back in her crib. She did none of these things. She was fussing a bit when I put her to bed (I think that probably had more to do with me turning off Nemo), but after a few minutes, there was silence. I gave it 15-20 minutes before going up to check on her just so I could make sure she actually was asleep. When I walked in, she was sound asleep in her new bed. I couldn't resist - I ran back and got the camera. Here she is for the first time sleeping in her new toddler bed:

Right.... this is what I was hoping would happen when we set up Bryn's toddler bed almost a year ago. She is still sleeping in her crib. I'm wildly jealous.

Too cute! We had a big consignment sale in town this weekend. I got an awesome deal on an infant swing and a bike trailer. I was so excited! Yeah for cheap finds!
