If you are anything like me, you like to shop the clearance a bit at the end of each season just to see if you can find some good deals on a few cute clothes for next year. I can usually approximate what Hannah will be but I'm having a bit of trouble with a cute coat I found. I went ahead and bought 2 sizes with the intention of returning one. I have looked at them for a few days now and I still can't decide. One size looks like it fits now with just a little room which may be fine since kids slow down in their toddler years but I worry that it could be small depending on how much she grows. However, the other looks kind of big to me and if she doesn't grow much, could end up pretty big for next year. I'm posting in hopes of getting a few opinions. Which one would you keep for next year?

I think I'd go with size B, since she seems to shoot up in height! And that hasn't necesarily stopped yet for her older friends just because they are supposed to slow down.
Oh, and PS. the A. she looks like she could totally get away with wearing to preschool today!
I haven't actually shopped for a clearance coat for Bryn this year (although I usually do) because I am hoping that this year's will fit again next year, as it is rather roomy this time around. Although maybe I should get one in the next size up just in case... or for two years from now... :)
Anyway, I'd go with size B. Even though it looks huge now, that kid of yours grows like a weed. And even if you don't wear it next year, you will want it eventually, whereas there is a chance that you'd just bypass size A altogether.
Hope that made sense.
And yeah, we stink at catching each other on the phone. Let's keep trying!
I have no actual experience in clearance buy-aheads, but I'd get the bigger one. Because I'd rather it be too big than too small. :)
Thanks ladies! I was leaning towards B as well, it's just shocking to me that she would be in a kids 5/6 next year (the other coat was a kids 4) but I really am thinking that maybe it's partly just that the sizes in that particular coat run small. As Cathy pointed out, the size 4 doesn't really look that big now. Plus, Amy & Kathy had good points about her growing into it eventually. If I have to wait one more year then oh well - it was still a great deal and a cute coat. Oh and it converts so you can actually zip the vest off of it and use it just as a vest or just as a lighter jacket. Yay!
