Letters For Their Room

We bought letters for Hannah when she was a baby and it took quite a while to hang them.  Hailey's didn't get hung in the nursery until it was almost time for her to move into a big kid room.  This time, we decided to use poster tape (no idea why we didn't think of this before) instead of drilling to hang the letters.  We went ahead and hung Hannah and Hailey's in their room as well, over their side of the closet.  Looks great!

Easter Fun!

We had playgroup Easter on Sunday, an impromptu gathering thrown together by Beth after I posted a throwback Thursday from an Easter party where all the kids were a year old.  Here the kids are, ready to get Easter eggs.  Hannah was even able to join us because it was later in the afternoon:

Hailey's Kindergarten Registration

Hailey had her kindergarten registration today.  Since she also turned 5 this past week, this is a lot to take in.  My baby going to kindy.  She did great though.  She passed the hearing, speech, and eyesight tests with no problems.  They did give her a general knowledge test, which she said she did her best on, so that's great.  She's very excited about going to kindergarten - she can't wait to ride the bus with Hannah and was disappointed to find out that registering for kindergarten doesn't mean that she gets to go to kindy tomorrow.  Slow down, little one!  <3 p="">

Is it weird that this makes me feel simultaneously sad about her kindergarten registration and her high school graduation?

Oh and if their goal was to make me feel old, they succeed.  ;)

Here Comes Trouble!

Logan has recently discovered how to really move and he has decided to use his newfound freedom to get into EVERYTHING.  Every time I turn around, there's that cute little boy, making trouble.

I try to cook dinner and find someone making a break for it up the stairs:

I step out of the kitchen for a second and come back to find someone playing in the cabinet:

I try to fold laundry and find someone undoing the DVD shelves:

I go to the bathroom and come back to find someone eating Peanut Butter M&Ms:

I wash my hands after changing a dipaer and come back to someone pulling out all the wipes:

And those were just the ones I caught on camera!  He also likes to unroll toilet paper, splash in the toilet, open all the cabinet drawers and unloads towels or pots/pans, etc.  What a sweet little trouble-maker we have!

A New Roof For The Playset

Yesterday, Grammy and Grampy came over to help build the roof on the swingset.  It originally had a tarp roof but since our side yard and backyard are nothing but a wind tunnel, that tarp was ripped to shreds the first winter it was on the playset.  This is the permanent solution.  Rob wants to stain the entire playset next year, after the wood has had some time to weather.  Here the guys are, hard at work:

Sibling Love For National Sibling Day

Two sisters who LOVE their baby brother! (And he loves them too!)

We couldn't ask for better kids - love these three!

5 Years In Review

Now that Hailey is 5, I will continue to fill in all her new accomplishments, but I'm not going to continue on with all the stats from when she was a baby. She is, after all, not a baby anymore, as she constantly likes to remind me.

Height/Weight: 41.75 in and 36.9lbs

Physical Features: Her hair is a rich dark brown. Her hair is just past chin length with long bangs. It is still very fine and soft and flips under. Her eyes look brown to me, but every once in a while, they look hazel (some grayish-green in there, maybe?).  She is average height and thin.

Milestones: She can write her first name in uppercase, write most letters in uppercase and some in lowercase, knows most sounds that the letters make, just began sounding out very basic words (cat, dog, etc), swim with armband floaties, draw pictures of people in action with a background, color inside the lines, tell stories, tell jokes, memorize her favorite books, mostly count to 100, skip, get in and out of car/carseat alone, brush teeth alone, use a butter knife, skate, ice skate, and she just stayed at both sets of her grandparents without us for the first time over spring break. She asks questions about everything and loves to color and draw pictures.  She also likes to have me tell her letters so she can write words. This summer, we plan to work on riding a bike without training wheels, tying her shoes, memorizing her full address and phone number, reading, and swimming without floaties.
