Sweet Hailey
Hailey amazes me. She is a happy, sweet girl. She rarely complains, even though she must itch like crazy all the time with all this ridiculous eczema that we can't seem to ever get or keep clear. Her reaction to her allergies amazes me even more. Things like chocolate or cookies or crackers make her itch and when you tell her that she can't have something because it will make her itch, she simply accepts it. She doesn't whine or complain or throw a fit. She doesn't argue. She simply says "okay Mommy" and moves on, even if there are other kids around her who are having the same thing she asked for. I've seen kids melt down over not getting their way once and she is being told that she can't ever have it on a regular basis. She doesn't let it get her down. What an extraordinary little girl!

More Reading!
Hannah already reaches for the stars. I love her determination. It wasn't enough that she was the first child to get her name in the newsletter for reading 10 books at Reading as Recess, she had to make sure to get the top "prize." A few weeks ago, she got the middle prize of helping the librarian for the day, which she was really looking forward to (and absolutely loved). This week, after reading 30 books (!) for Reading at Recess, she had the honor of reading a book to her principal. She chose "All By Myself" and did an excellent job. Her teacher sent home a note about how proud she was of Hannah and we couldn't be more proud of her ourselves! Great job Hannah!

She Is Her Father's Daughter
My kids talk a lot (shocking I know) and so many people say that they have my personality. I absolutely agree that they do and really it only seems fair since they look so much like Rob. However, there are times you can tell that they definitely have Rob's personality too. For instance:
Me: How was school?
Hannah: Good but some kids think I'm bossy.
Me: Oh, why is that?
Hannah: I don't know. I'm not trying to be bossy, I just want to make sure they do it right.
Anyone who knows Rob knows that is him through and through. He didn't even try to deny it when I told him, he just said that he understands how it isn't bossing someone around when you are merely trying to instruct them of the best way (aka - his way) to do something. Ha! Two peas in a pod!
