Comparison Pictures - 5 Months

As requested, here are a few more pictures of Hannah & Hailey at the same age. They definitely have a different head shape and it looks like Hailey will have brown hair instead of blonde. I still think they look pretty similiar though!

Sisterly Love

Hannah adores Hailey. It's the cutest thing I've ever seen. She just wants to be near her at all times. Hannah often wants to sit on your lap if you are holding Hailey and at first we thought it might be a jealousy issue. Now I'm convinced that she just wants to be near Hailey. She is always saying things like "I love Hailey", "Can I give Hailey a hug?", and "Hailey is growing so she can play with me." She kisses her constantly and talks nonstop about all the things she wants to teach Hailey. My heart just soars when I see how much Hannah loves her little sister, and the adoration definitely goes both ways. Hailey loves to watch Hannah and smiles at her constantly. Hailey even laughs for Hannah, something she does very rarely for anyone else. Sisters are such a special thing and I look forward to them growing together. Here are a few of my favorite pictures of them over the last almost 5 months:

First Day of Preschool

I decided to write a separate post for Hannah's first day of preschool. This is a huge thing for us and we only decided to enroll her in preschool about 3 weeks before it began. Up to that point, we were concerned she may not like it and didn't think it was necessary. Although I still don't find it necessary as far as academics goes, she recently started craving time with other kids. I try to supply her with time around her friends and peers by doing playdates and going to the park/pool daily, but I realized it was going to be harder and harder to give her these things as it gets cooler and as Hailey starts a nap routine, especially if Hailey requires as much sleep as her older sister. So, we made the decision to enroll Hannah.

Her first day of school was August 14, 2009. I tried to make sure she had some of her favorite foods. Here is my attempt to be creative by using colored cupcake papers - a way to include cheese cubes, olives, green beans (yes she eats them cold, even at home), and strawberries:

And a jelly sandwhich, divided by wax paper:

All in princess tupperware, of course:

Packed in her lunchbox with a water bottle and a note from Mommy and Daddy wishing her a happy first day of preschool:

Here's her new lunchbag and backpack that she picked out (surprisingly, not princess):

And here is the preschooler herself, all ready for her first day:

She had so much fun! There were no tears as we left and she came home telling us all about how she got to sing a "Hello" song, a "Goodbye" song, and a "Clean-up" song. She said she made new friends, loved eating her lunch like a picnic, got a sticker, and made us a picture with dots (which is now on the fridge). I have always loved learning and I'm so excited for her to start this journey, even if it makes me a little sad to realize how fast she is growing. We're so proud of our little girl!
