Dear Lord, it's such a hectic day,
With little time to stop and pray,
For life's been anything but calm
Since You called me to be a mom--
Running errands, matching socks,
Building dreams with wooden blocks,
Cooking, cleaning, finding shoes
And other stuff that children lose,
Fitting lids on bottled bugs,
Wiping tears and giving hugs,
A stack of last week's mail to read--
So where's the quiet time I need?
Yet, when I steal a moment, Lord,
Just at the sink or ironing board,
To ask the blessings of Your grace,
I see then, in my small one's face,
That you have blessed me all the while --
And I stoop to kiss that precious smile.

39 Week Update
Well here we are at 39 weeks. I had my appointment yesterday and there were no changes from last week. I know that dilation/effacement makes no difference in the end, but it was still depressing to hear that there was no change since I've been having so many contractions. Doctor still insists that there is a good chance I'll go into labor before he gets back on April 6th but I think he's just being nice. LOL That's okay, he's now on vacation and I'd rather have him here for my delivery anyways. He officially offered me the April 7th induction date, which I took. He did say that if I really wanted it, he would probably be willing to let me go one more week beyond that but I told him we're not aiming for a 10lb baby here! Based on the ultrasound from last week, this baby will probably be right around 9lbs on April 7th and will already be late. That's enough for me!
The refinance paperwork is in, our taxes are done, Hannah gets her stitches out today, and now there's nothing to do but wait for baby! Send us good labor vibes! :)

Decision Was Made
Well based on the fact that I'm posting, I'm sure you can figure out that I am not in the hospital having a baby. I went back and forth all weekend on what to do, especially since I do not truly believe this baby will come on it's own based on my experience with Hannah. However, the decision was basically made for me when Hannah got hurt Sunday night. After a horribly traumatizing trip to the ER to get stitches, they told us that Hannah would need a follow-up on Tuesday or Wednesday with her pediatrician, followed by another follow-up on Friday either with the pediatrician or the hospital to have the stitches removed. Scheduling the induction for today would have meant that I couldn't be there for my (older) baby and that was just not an acceptable decision for me. If the baby had decided to come on it's own, that's beyond my control, but I wouldn't purposely choose to not be there when I know Hannah prefers Mommy when she's scared or hurt. So, there you go. Decision made. If baby doesn't come on it's own by April 7th, that is our day.

38 Week Update And A False Alarm
I have been having symptoms of labor for several days now. One of those symptoms is that the contractions will start a pattern and die out. Not surprising, it happened quite often with Hannah, but I never had any other symptoms to back it up so I never thought that I might be in labor with her. Last night I thought I might be in labor. I had been feeling bad all day and around 3pm, the contractions went to every 5 minutes but died out after about a half hour. No big deal. Then they restarted about a quarter till 7pm and after an hour of contractions every 5 minutes (some of them quite intense), they moved to every 4 minutes and we called. They told us to come on in and get checked so we did. They hooked me up to the monitor and I was having contractions every 4 minutes. However, only about 1 out of 4 or 5 contractions was strong enough to be considered a "real" contraction, so they proclaimed it was not a labor pattern and sent me home. They told me to go walk and see if that intensified the contractions and if it did, come back. Since it was already like 10pm, I came home and went to bed instead. I figured if this was it, I didn't need to walk around Meijer in the middle of the night to make it happen. Obviously, that was not it and I was and am a little disappointed and discouraged.
I had my 38 week appointment today where they told me I was 2cm and 75% effaced. Same as last night. My doctor, who is going to be out of town on my due date, once again offered to induce me on Tuesday if I want him to. I will be 38.5 weeks, and as of today, the baby was measuring exactly 7.5lbs (babies gain half a pound every week, so this makes baby 8.5lbs on his/her due date). He even offered to hold off on the evil drugs and just break my water for me, which makes the offer more tempting. This sounds like a simple yes or no question, but I have been wrestling with it for some time now. I trust my doctor. I don't know any of the other doctors and when in a high stress situation (such as, say, labor), I want the person I know. I know he avoids c-sections, espisiotimies, forecepts/clamps, etc at any cost. I don't know that about any of his partners. He knows my wishes to not even be offered those awful IV drugs and he is laid back and not in your face about anything. I like him and I choose him for a reason (including that he will come deliver you pretty much no matter what) and suddenly not having him there sounds a little scary. But I'm still undecided. I have until Monday to make my choice. If I don't induce on Tuesday, I have 2 weeks to have the baby before they will induce for being late.
Based on what happened with Hannah, I realize there is a good chance that my labor will not start until someone starts it. Ugh, I hate decisions.
On a brighter note, we did get to see baby on the ultrasound and that was amazing. Baby was waving, clapping his/her hands, scratching his/her head, and putting hands in the mouth. You could see the baby opening and closing it's eyes. I never had an ultrasound this late with Hannah and it's seriously the coolest thing I've ever seen. They stayed far away from anything that would tell us if it's a boy or girl and even turned off the monitor like I requested when they hit that area. I did not wait an extra 4 months just to have the surprise ruined a few days to a few weeks before delivery!
Anyways, so there is my very long update. I am planning on walking, eating spicy foods, etc all weekend long in hopes that I go into labor on my own before Monday and don't have to make this decision. Wish me luck! ;)

Thursday Thirteen
I have always been amazed at the new things Hannah can do but recently it has become very apparent to me that my "baby" isn't such a baby anymore.
13 New Big Girl Things:
1. She is potty trained. No more accidents, no more issues, she just still sleeps with a diaper on "just in case".
2. She can dress and undress herself completely. I'm not saying she always does it, but she usually does. She just learned buttons. She also tries to brush her hair and teeth by herself.
3. She no longer talks in sentences, she talks in paragraphs. Non-stop. I think Rob thinks it's funny and that I'm getting a daughter who is just like me. She also uses descriptions like "that's beautiful", "that smells good", etc and thinks things are funny, sad, etc. She definitely like to tell you how she feels.
4. She has opinions. And she voices them. Often. We were at the store the other day looking for a sweater to go over her Easter dress and she found a dress she liked. She took it off the rack, brought it to me, and said "oh Mommy I LOVE this dress."
5. I just had to buy her some 4T jeans. Yep, my not even 3 year old is in 4T pants (by the way, Carters outlet has their girl jeans at 60% off). She has been in 4T shirts for a few months now.
6. She likes her hair styled and tries to put on my make-up while I am fixing her hair in the morning. She also wants me to put mousse in her hair, which is good because it actually helps keep her fine hair from having so many fly-aways.
7. She has turned into a big helper. She helps set the table, load and unload the laundry, put away the dishes, sweep, etc. I actually found her in the kitchen a few weeks ago trying to unload the dishes by herself. She was doing a pretty impressive job.
8. She talks to other kids. I know this doesn't seem like a big deal but she no longer talks at them, she actually has conversations with them. There was a little girl about her age in the play area with her Daddy and the little girl said something like "that's my Daddy" and Hannah said "my Daddy is at work." She is also becoming more out-going, which is nice to see since she was a bit on the shy side up to this point.
9. She understands how to play a real game. It's Hi-Ho Cherry-O and I do get a little sick of playing it but she understands the rules and plays the game correctly. She can sort of play Memory but Chutes and Ladders and CandyLand are a little above her (mostly they take too long to play and she loses interest).
10. She remembers things from months ago. We saw a horse the other day and she told Rob "do you remember when we went to the pumpkin patch and I rode the horse." Yes, he does, but we're shocked she does. That was back in the middle of October!
11. She tries to negotiate. Sometimes it works, usually it doesn't, but it's still funny to hear. We went to her big siblings class last week and she was going to get to go to McDonald's to play afterwards. As we passed the McD's that has the play area, she said "Mommy I want to go to McDonald's first." Since the class was about to start in 20 minutes, I tried to explain this to her, and she just kept saying "Mommy, let's talk. McDonald's first, then my big sibling class." She does follow through on agreements when we do negotiate, which is nice.
12. She is starting to get a grasp on money. I'm not saying she truly understands it or anything but she was trying to convince Rob to put some donuts in the shopping cart. He asked her "do you have any money to pay for them?" (which obviously he knows she doesn't because it's not like we do an allowance or anything yet) and she said "no" and then put them back on her own without arguing.
13. She is learning social skills. She says "please", "thank you", "excuse me", covers her mouth with she coughs or sneezes, etc.

"I Want A Sister!"
Yep, this is Hannah's new favorite phrase. She has told me this numerous times every day for a few days now. I keep telling her that we'll find out soon and she's got a 50/50 chance. ;)

Andrea & Rob
A survey about me and my hubby:
♥ What are your middle names?
Mine is Lynn, his is Duane.
♥ How long have you been together?
We will have been married 6 years in June, we have been together 9 years as of May.
♥ How long did you know each other before you started dating?
The length of a school year I guess? I met him on one of the first days of marching band and we went on our first date the last day of finals. We didn't really start hanging out until second semester though.
♥ Who asked who out?
He asked me out the day after an unexpected kiss (which we still argue over who kissed who - LOL).
♥ How old are each of you?
I'm 29 and he's 28.
♥ Whose siblings do/ did you see the most?
Well my sister lives 11 hours away and my brother lives on the other side of the country, so we definitely see his brother the most (although I talk to my twin on the phone most days).
♥ Do you have any children together?
Hannah Michelle (almost 3 yrs old) and Baby #2 (due any day now).
♥ What about pets?
A very hairy very fat cat named Lacey.
♥ Which situation is/was the hardest on you as a couple?
Miscarriage.
♥ Did you go to the same school?
We went to the same college for 3 years.
♥ Are you from the same home town?
Nope.
♥ Who is smarter?
LOL I'll give Amy's diplomatic response and say "depends on the situation." I guess in reality though he is a little smarter and I'm a little bit of a harder worker, so it probably evens out.
♥ Who is more sensitive?
Me!
♥ Where do you eat out most as a couple?
Um, no idea. We definitely don't eat out much anymore. I guess we tend to bring home chinese food the most.
♥ Where is the furthest you two have traveled together as a couple?
We went to Europe to visit Jen right after I graduated. We went to England, Spain, and France.
♥ Who has the craziest exes?
Um, I wouldn't say either of our exes are crazy. Maybe because we don't talk to them anymore so we just don't know. ;)
♥ Who has the worse temper?
Me, definitely.
♥ Who does the cooking?
Mostly me. He does the grilling though.
♥ Who is more social?
I'd say we are both pretty social but I tend to talk more.
♥ Who is the neat-freak?
Neither of us. We both have pet peeves about it though. He wants everything not just cleaned but disinfected and doesn't care about clutter. Clutter drives me crazy but I'm cool with just wiping stuff down (unless there is a specific reason, such as raw chicken fell on the counter in front of me). Ironic, huh?
♥ Who is the more stubborn?
Gosh that's a tough one. Probably me but not by a lot.
♥ Who hogs the bed?
Rob for sure. We got a king size bed because he literally lies diagonally across queen size beds and there is no room for me.
♥ Who wakes up earlier?
When we were both working, I got up earlier. When Hannah was a baby, I also got up earlier. Now that Hannah sleeps in a bit, I usually get up later. I have a feeling that will be changing very soon...
♥ Where was your first date?
We tried to go to Chili's but hadn't made reservations. When they told us the wait was well over an hour, we decided to go next door to Don Pablos. It took 2 more times of trying that date again before he finally made reservations and we ate at Chili's. LOL On our one year anniversary, we wanted to go to Don Pablos but since they decided to start making a big deal out of Cinco De Mayo that year, they had over an hour wait. We decided to go next door to Chili's. Funny, huh?
♥ Who has the bigger family?
Well it depends. He has the bigger extended family (1 grandparent, 6 aunts, 5 uncles, and 14 cousins compared to my 4 grandparents, 1 aunt, 2 uncles, and 1 cousin) but I have the bigger immediate family (2 parents, 1 sister, 1 brother, and 1 brother-in-law compared to his 2 parents and 1 brother).
♥ Do you get flowers often?
Yes, especially recently.
♥ How do you spend the holidays?
By filling the entire week to the brim with family stuff.
♥ Who is more jealous?
I don’t ever recall a time that either of us was jealous.
♥ How long did it take to get serious?
Well the day after our first date, he called and asked when I was coming to his parents house to visit him during the summer and then suggested that next weekend.
♥ Who eats more?
Right now at over 8 months pregnant? ME! LOL We actually probably eat a very similar amount normally, although he may eat a little more.
♥ Who does/ did the laundry?
Me. The only time he does laundry is if he needs something specific and it's not laundry day. I don't do extra loads during the week. Either catch it on Tuesday or do it yourself.
♥ Who’s better with the computer?
Him.
♥ Who drives when you are together?
Him.

Comparison Pictures
Okay, many people have been asking about comparison pictures of my pregnancy with Hannah and my current pregnancy. Unfortunately, the only pictures that I have quick and easy access to are my baby shower pictures. I think they were taken around 30-32 weeks. Here they are:

I think I am carrying very similar to how I carried with Hannah - I had many many people tell me I was for sure having a boy and not to wash all that pink just yet but you can be the judge... :)

Boy or Girl? It's Time To Vote!
Okay, based on my doctor's concern that I may go into labor sooner rather than later (I only hope he's right!), I thought I'd set up my poll now. You can see my most recent picture in my "36 Week Update" post, so here's my question: do you think baby is a boy or a girl? The poll is on the right side of your screen so please vote when you have a chance!
For what it's worth, I think we're having another girl, Rob thinks it's a boy, and Hannah's answer changes depending on the day! :)

36 Week Update
I had my 36 week appointment today. I am up 26lbs, blood pressure is 110/60, and baby has a nice strong heartbeat. I had my Strep B test (ick) today and doc checked me. I am almost 2cm dialated and the baby's head is "right there", as the doc put it. This is good, but it also means that he is no longer letting me off the medicine this week. I have to wait until next Friday because he doesn't want the baby born before 37 weeks. I totally understand, I don't want the baby born before 37 weeks either, I was just looking forward to not taking the medicine anymore. Oh well, one more week...

Anyways, here I am at 36 weeks:

One Month From Today
Exactly one month from today is my due date. Where did the time go? I feel like we are mostly ready. The bassinet and carseat have been located and wiped down, my hospital bag has been packed, the nursery has been cleaned up, and Hannah has been moved into her new big girl room. Hannah even had her "big sibling" class today and learned all about what it will be like to have a little brother or sister. I feel like I am prepared mentally, and if this is a girl, we have every single thing we need but the crib (Hannah's was recalled - we have the voucher but were waiting until baby arrives to purchase the crib), mattress (Hannah is still using hers in her toddler bed), and lamp (Hannah's went into her room). If it's a boy, we still don't need much - just some sheets and decorations for the room and some clothes. We still haven't decided on a name, but some day soon I'm just going to lock Rob in a room and tell him he can't leave until we've decided.
For those I haven't spoken to recently, I have an ultrasound scheduled 2 weeks from Friday to check baby's size - some of you may remember that Rob was 11lbs at birth and Hannah was no little baby either. The doc may recommend an early induction at that time (which I am fine with if that avoids a baby that gets stuck and winding up in a c-section), and he has stated that if he does, that date will be March 24th, which is 3 weeks from today. If not, doc has also reminded me that he does not recommend his patients to go past 41 weeks. So, if everything looks good at the ultrasound, baby has until April 7th to make his/her appearance. I really am hoping that baby's size looks fine and he/she comes before April 7th, but at least the doctor has agreed to try just breaking my water and giving it a few hours if we do end in an induction. Pitocin is not my friend so I was very excited to hear this. I am actually hoping the baby comes right at 37 weeks but I'm sure that's too much to ask for. I go off my meds to stop the contractions this Friday at 36 weeks but that didn't make any difference in the end with Hannah so I've made my peace with the idea that the same thing may (and probably will) happen this time too.
Anyways, all that rambling to say that 5 weeks from today, I will for sure be holding our new little girl or little boy!
